Philosophy

Welcome to BOBO KIDS CLUB, the ski school for children and teenagers from three years upwards. What is it all about? Everything is about Bobo, the penguin, which is not only our mascot, moreover, it is also a very good friend of our skiing grounds.
Penguin Bobo supports the ski instructors with their work in the snow, furthermore, Bobo represents the factor of success among children, ski instructors and parents.
Bobo kids clubs take care of about 150000 children in Austria every year.

This kids club was founded in order to offer a perfect ski technique for the younger guests as well as to provide a good atmosphere during the lessons on the ski grounds.

Besides a clever concept of the lessons, based on a 4 part radio play, which tells the adventurous story of Bobo, the penguin and his journeys in the Alps, there are also aids and training materials to mention which have been developed after principles like

• motivation
• child psychology
• safety
• and educational learning

In order to transfer all these ideas, kids club partners take regularly part in trainings which give, besides the philosophy and the idea, which actually stands behind this concept, practical instructions for taking care of children. A special attention has to be paid to the story of Bobo which is connected with the contents of the curriculum of the ski schools.
Why simply a penguin? And why is it called Bobo? And how does it come that a penguin is in the mountains and learns skiing?
The concept which was developed in cooperation with educationists, was not only made for children.Yet, the children helped to make the final decision. Five different figures (a bear, a marmot, a kangaroo, a rabbit and a penguin) were designed.
The children could play with them in the kindergarten for one month. The clear favourite was the penguin and one child spontanously called it Bobo.
This result was the basis for the continuation of the further development of this system.

1. Kids club philosophy
Winterworld is the most beautiful playground that nature has created for your children. Everything that children learn from skiing, are their own earnings. We can help them, give some examples and reveal some secrets.
On the one hand children learn from other children and, on the other hand, they become teachers for other children. The power of children is not compareable to anything else.
The children's satisfaction is the most important proof of our success. Its a wonderful feeling to extend the frame of their abilities. Everyone can decide for himself how far he can go.
Parents can proof their trust if they allow us to take care of their children.Children want to learn and they want to surprise their parents with their new abilities.

2. BOBO
Every child has immediately got a new friend in the kids club. It is Bobo, the penguin, our beloved mascot. Bobo stands for creativity, childlike psychology and a lot of fun - a real fellow in the winterworld. Bobo is always with your child. It starts with the warming up, the Bobo boogie, till the end of the course, where Bobo awards the winners of the final ski race. And if children suddenly make signs and speak like a penguin, then it is Bobo who has motivated them to do that.

3. Kids club ski instructors
Bobo's kids club is for the joy of your children. Here the term ski instructor is only an umbrella term for the new friends of your children. Moreover, they are all well trained for the teamwork with your children. They have a lot of social competence.
Children learn skiing by means of a curriculum advanced by the ski instructor association. It is also based on the elements of the most modern sports medical knowledges.

4. Kids club resort
Kids club ski schools work according to the most modern standards of safety. Special trainings for our staff and the arrangement of the ski grounds guarantee the highest amount of safety controll. Every child finds his way without any problems because he wears stickers with hie name and a stretch tricot, the staff is clothed uniformal and there are also sign posts with symbols for the children. A kids club cannot be ignored. Technical equipment and materials are simply aids and should serve the children.
